Steffanie Holtrop is President and Publisher of ‘hood Magazine, a trusted parenting resource she founded more than 16 years ago to connect families with meaningful experiences and local opportunities. What began as a passion project—inspired by summers spent finding activities for her niece and nephew—has grown into a leading regional platform shaped by the voices and needs of local parents.
In addition to ‘hood Magazine, Steffanie has spent over 20 years in healthcare publishing across the Midwest as part of MED, a healthcare publishing company serving South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, and Nebraska. Through MED, she helps healthcare organizations connect with their communities through strategic media, storytelling, and targeted outreach.
She is also the driving force behind Familyfest, a signature community event she has produced for more than a decade, bringing together thousands of families for connection, education, and fun.
Steffanie has served on numerous community and industry boards and is passionate about collaboration and leadership within the publishing space. She looks forward to serving on an executive board where she can connect and work alongside fellow publishers in the parenting media community, continuing to support innovation and growth in local media.
A dedicated advocate for families and community engagement, Steffanie is passionate about supporting parents through every stage of the journey. She lives in the Sioux Falls area with her high school sweetheart and their two children, Jaxson and Khloe, who have grown up alongside the ‘hood brand and remain an integral part of its story.
Andrea Breznay | Monterey Bay Parent
Andrea Breznay is the publisher of Monterey Bay Parent, serving Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties, California. Andrea relocated back to the Monterey Bay from Naples, Florida where she was the founder and publisher of Neapolitan Family, SWFL Special Needs Family, Bonita/Estero Family, and SWFL Retiree magazine.
Andrea lived in Monterey County for many years after graduating from The University of California, Santa Cruz. She is the mother of an adult daughter and the grandparent of two young children. She is an accomplished photographer, writer, and artist. Andrea is past president of Parenting Media Association, a trade organization for publishers serving the parenting market.
Elena Epstein | L.A. Parent
Elena Epstein is the Editorial Director and co-owner (with her husband) of L.A. Parent, the go-to-source of inspiration and information for families in Los Angeles for 46 years. Throughout her career as a journalist she has interviewed and written about hundreds of parents, educators, philanthropists, celebrities, physicians, researchers and organizations focused on building communities where children and families can thrive. L.A. Parent has won numerous Parenting Media Association Gold Awards, including the General Excellence Award, for its warm, inclusive voice, engaging storytelling and service to the Southern California parenting community. Elena holds an MBA and her greatest joy and pride is being a mom to her two daughters.
Jane MacNealy | Neapolitan Family
Jane MacNealy is co-owner of Neapolitan Family Publishing and co-publisher of Southwest Florida Family, where she helps lead a regional parenting publication serving families in Southwest Florida. With more than 24 years of experience in publishing, design, and media, she has worked as a publisher, graphic designer, and social media manager. Jane has received multiple Parenting Media Association awards for design and editorial excellence and has served on the PMA Board of Directors since 2023. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus and enjoys playing volleyball, hiking, and gardening.

Jennifer Bryerton is Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of CharlottesvilleFamily Magazine, which she has led for more than 25 years, and owner of VirginiaSummerCamp.com and
